Memories of
Dean Deffenbaugh |
|
by Bob Martin, Col. USA |
Yes, I
remember Dean. He was great in sports and was
one of the guys in the school who could out run
me in the 100 yard dash. I met up with Dean a
couple years out of high school when I spotted
my Dodge Super Bee that I had sold across the
street from where I worked. I worked at Sears
Parts Dept on Oakland Blvd at the time. I stood
there and watched Dean getting ready to open the
car door and yelled at him. We had a good talk
about what we were doing and the fact that he
had purchased my car. I had to get rid of the
car because I was getting drafted in the Army to
support Viet Nam. I was drafted in the army and
never dreamed that 35 years later, I would still
be serving. Yes, I had fond memories of Dean.
He was very competitive and just a good guy to
me. I am sorry he is gone.
