Memories of Cecil Sullivan

by Donna Lagasse'

Cecil was my dearest close friend from the time we were 8 years old. My first boyfriend and all through school we would date, then date others, date, and then... all those years. He took me to the junior prom and we always thought we would get married. Cecil was in the Navy and went to Annapolis. He served aboard the USS Enterprise and was so handsome in his uniform. We remained friends all these years, his mom is my second mom (she will be 91 in January!). He eventually landed in Co., where he got married and had two sons and a daughter. He had his own business and was very successful. Always the gentleman, the good ole fashioned kind. He had a tumor on his pituitary gland that caused him to have his bones grow very large, causing him to look so different, he was so self conscious and it broke my heart. He died from complications from the disease way before his time. It was the saddest day of my life. I know that you who remember him, remember him as so sweet, kind, funny and extremely brilliant. I miss him terribly but am confident I will see him again.
