Candice Wilson Coghill, a longtime resident of both
Stuart and Merritt Island, FL, passed away Sept. 21,
2012 at Treasure Coast Hospice. Born in Miami, FL,
Candice grew up in Huntington, NY and Fort Lauderdale,
FL. A graduate of Florida State University, Candice
lived in Germany for several years and was fluent in
both French and German. She retired from her role as
executive director of the Juvenile Assessment Center in
Fort Pierce in 2010 to pursue her passion for writing.
Her award-winning story, George's Wheels, was recently
published by the Florida Writer's Association. Candice
was also an accomplished musician who played the flute
and guitar. Her warmth and wit will be sorely missed
by her beloved daughter, Jennifer Coghill; two
grandchildren; mother, Grace Wilson; sister, Melissa
Wilson; brother, Donald Wilson; and a multitude of
friends.
