HELLO DRAGONS,
SATURDAYS SUN SENTINAL SPORTS PAGE HEAD LINE (OCT 24 2009)
"LATE BLOCK GIVES WAY TO PARTY FOR DRAGONS.
This is one Stranahan will remember for a long time.
With the Dragons clinging to a 3 point lead and 12 seconds remaining, Hollywood Hills took the field to attempt a game tying 38 yard field goal on third down. Instead, Derwin Brown broke thru the line and blocked the kick and Dragon Justin Brown,fell on the ball for an emotional 20-17 win
The play sealed the victory and more inportantly gave the Dragons the District 16-4A championship.Its the first district title for Stranahan since the dragons went 7-3 IN 1996.
I wilL be attending the SHS/LAUDERDALE game again this year,anyone interested in attending let me know.(Its still at lockhart stadium)
As it was in 1965 the game will be homecoming for both schools. Last years game was the 50th meeting between the two schools,SHS won and was presented a gold football commerating the event. our principal was presented the ball at the end of the game.......... GO DRAGONS

Thanks to Facebook and all the Dragon's of 1965 that popped up when I first signed on the other day, I now have this site. I'm emailing Donna LaGasse and Marcia Makepiece and yesterday, I talked to Cleve Schoor in Dallas for over an hour. We grew up in Plantation and it was great to talk about old times and Friends. Sorry to hear about Bill Herbert and Cecil Sullivan. The four of us hung out together from grade school thru Stranahan. I'm looking for a classmate and her younger brother that lived 2 doors down. Sue and Bill Givens. If my memory is still working, Sue was our Homecoming Queen. She later married Fred Svarney. Mr. and Mrs. Givens raised me along with Bill and Sue. We went almost everywhere together. Even vacations. I'm sure their parents have passed. So If anyone can help, please email me. Barbara Boyer was a close friend of Sue's. Sorry to hear about Phil Tuckers passing. We were good friends in school.

We will surely miss Phil. He was a great guy. Another Dragon has received his wings and is on his way to the ultimate reunion. A card has been sent on behalf of his alumni classmates to Penny & family.

Thanks so much for letting us know about Phil. I knew him a little bit in high school, but really enjoyed working with him at our reunions. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him.

I was wondering how many people here went to Parkway JR HS? And is there a web sight for it? I'm curious to know if any body knows what happened to Joe Costa, Mike Bruno. The drummer in Joe's band was Randy Warren. I have a lot of memories from that era. I spent 4 yrs there. I stayed back to be with my girlfriend. Which I thought was smart at the time.Also wondering about my brothers ex- wife Connie Mailhot, and all her siblings. I know Donald passed away. But I haven't heard about Connie, Jeannine and all the rest in a long time.
