Just had to pass this along. I am here at the hotel I work at and the owner (my boss) holds his HS class reunion here every year. It is the class of 1946 from Dalton Ga. Needless to say, the group is very small, but let me tell you....it is a very encouraging site to watch. I am observing people who are 80+ laughing and talking and yes....even dancing to the "twist". So Gang.....let us not complain about advancing years.....aches and pains.....or state that we are "getting too old" to gather together every 5 years. These folks say it all......bonds are bonds and ties are ties.....we will be Dragons together and together we will always fly. Rock On and be there in September.

Thanks Jim for the response. I visited the school last year and it is hard to recognize. Walls where there weren't any and windows blocked over. The main breezeway doesn't even exist as it is also walled shut. There is a current plan to systematicaly and completely tear down and rebuild the whole place. I think they are starting with the gym. I doubt the Alma Mater pictures are still there. The student body is also VASTLY different than us.

For what it's worth (and not much at that) the Alma Mater predated our class. I think it dates to the 50's. I was giving Mr. Haun the first of copies of the Alma Mater for display in each homeroom, on behalf of the Civitan Club. Dick Ogburn, also in the picture, I believe chaired the project. I wonder if they are still up. Probably a little faded and moldy, like some of us!

I have been getting those messages for a while now and just delete them. I figured it was some sort of spam.

Just to remind you in case you have not read the "caveat Emptor" message on the Home page regarding USA ReUnited. I keep getting daily messages from this site stating I have messages from alumni or that someone has just joined. The messages are all exactly the same and duplicated at times. This site is pirating our info from our web site and making it look like classmates want to get in touch. This is mostly NOT the case as the Homepage memo says. Be very wary. I am sure you all are aware how to reach any of the committee and any other classmate right here on our own site. This is where we will always contact you from regarding any issues with our Class. Let us know if you run into problems with USA ReUnited. Thanks.

Last night I was looking at the '65 year book. I was trying to put a face to a name. It felt like I had entered "Mr. Pebody's Way-Back Machine".(do you remember the Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoons?)I came accross a photo captioned as "Jim Napolitan handing the first Alma Mater to Mr. Haun". Is that true like it says? Was that the FIRST year for the song? We all knew it by '67 but I found it surprising that that SHS would not have had an Alma Mater before '65?

Yeah they lowered the high ceilings. Put in air, etc. But now their going to build a brand new school. It's a little different than when we went there. But the new school is something else. They have a model in the front of the school. Going to be pretty neat. Me ,and Ted, and Tavenner, are all back over there helping with the wrestling team. It's been a lot of fun so far. The kids are great.

Hey Fred, I thought Stranahan was remodeled just a few years ago. I guess this is some of Obama's stimulus money! Anyway, good to hear from you, take care....
