  Nov.7,2014 SHS/Lauderdale:It didnt happen!! I was there last night,so were both teams and alot of fans.......but no refs,yup they thought the game was Sat. night and if you read the Slum-sentinel.er make that SunSentinel you would have thought it was Sat. too.The game was cancelled,dont check their sports web site it shows the game for tonight and cancelled.Lauderdale did their homecoming before the game. While waiting for the refs,both school bands put on a good show and an announcement was made honoring Coach Lou Gibson,then a moment of silence to honor him. SHS then had their homecoming activities and then we all went to Wolfies on Sunrise for ice cream. It's all true except for the Wolfies part.

I have the sad job of reporting,this morning Coach Lou Gibson passed away.he was 91 years old.He would have turned 92 next Wednesday.I spoke with his daughter at the homecoming game tonight,she will let me know when arrangements have been made and I will post it here.What a sad day for all us old Dragons and the Gibson family.Rest in peace Mr. Gibson your work here is done and you have been called home.

The SHS/LAUDERDALE game has been moved from S.Plantation field to the PAL field,located at 400 NW 73rd Ave.Plantation,Fl
We are the home team,we sit on the north side stands. Admission is $5.00.
Lauderdale is having their homecoming activities before the game. SHS homecoming activities will be at halftime. Game starts at 7PM.Because of the move their are no Alumni activities planned before the game.SHS Alumni T-shirts will be on sale for $10.00,sold by the cheerleaders squad.

  Oct.31 SHS defeated Coconut Creek 20-14 in a District 15-6A game. The dragons held CC to just 19 yards of total offence in the first half. Anthony Hunt scored two touchdowns,one a 5 yard run up the middle on our opening drive of the third quarter and again scoring in the fourth quarter to seal the win.Hunt had a total of 126 yards in the game.SHS finished 2-3 in district and is 4-5 overall with just one more game to go.YOU GUSSED IT!!! NEXT FRIDAY NOV.7 SHS v/Lauderdale High. From thee skill and science flow,come on you know the rest.Sing it.

SHS lost to Hallandale last night 27-14.The loss eliminates SHS from district playoff contention.It was 20-0 at halftime. Anthony Hunt scored twice in the fourth quarter but it wasnt enough.Our second season starts at homecoming. its never a bad year when we beat Lauderdale,so if you live in town,come to homecoming and support your old alma mater . The Dragons are now 1-3 in district and 3-4 overall.
