Remember Jaxson's ice cream parlor? still open and going strong,in their 58th year of selling the best ice cream around.Well the other day I was in Dania and wanted a milkshake.at 3:30pm there were 96 people in line to get in . Ok no problem,Ill just go to the take out window, nope 33 people in line just for take out(those numbers are accurate I really counted them all) Man was I dissapointed, still havent had a milkshake. Please dont think of me as the Grim Reaper but last week Monroe Udell passed away at age 86,he was the founder and first owner of Jaxson"s Oh the memories, On a first date I always went there or to Wolfies on Sunrise Blvd.TMI Never mind it will all be in my book ..............Ray

Thanks Ray, for the notice about Coach Maltby. In 1960, both he and his wife taught a Sunday School class at Park Temple Methodist Church, of which I was a member. Only a super nice man (couple) would take on a group of thirteen year olds. We were blessed to have him.....

5-22-14 In today's paper the death of Loren "Duke" Maltby was reported he was 87 and we remember him as the Coach of Ft.Lauderdale High school during the 60's He and Coach Lou Gibson went head to head for a number of years at the Homecoming games back in our days there. Duke was a teacher and coach at Fort Lauderdale High for 22 years. I called Coach Gibsons house to pass this information to him, his caretaker answered the phone and said she would pass the info along to him. She told me Coach Gibson is 92 years old and lives in Plantation,Fl
