Way back on August 29th SHS defeated South Broward Bulldogs 6-0 in a much delayed weather game. We were credited with the win. South Broward appealed the loss and was granted a new makeup game, that game was played yesterday, Oct 14th.
Big mistake by the bulldogs. SHS came to play some football. SHS lead at halftime 13-7. The second half was all Dragons out scoring S. Broward 27-0. final score
SHS 40, S. Broward 7. So we got credit for a win, we really got back in August. right now the Mighty Dragons are 4-3 overall, with three games left to play.
10/18 West Broward.
10/25 N. Miami Beach.
11/1 Fort Lauderdale Low Flying L's.
Its still a double Homecoming game. Ls are the home team this year, so they will have their homecoming during halftime. SHS will do their homecoming at the conclusion of the game.

For three quarters the Mighty dragons held the No.10 team in the state to only a 13-6 lead. it was a game to decide who was in 1st place in the district 15-5A division. American Heritage kicked two field goals and a touchdown to put the game away. The dragons have nothing to be ashamed of. it was a mighty effort by the Mighty Dragons.

Friday night under the lights......…...SHS won another one beating Hallandale High by the score of 14-6. Defense was strong as usual. With a 4-1 record SHS is in a first place tie with American Heritage. No District games have been played by anyone in our division yet. Next week we play Blanche Ely, Thurs. night at 6PM. Both teams are 4-1, so it will be a good match-up,
rank wise the Dragons are 1,478 in the nation, 123rd best school in the state of Florida and in the top 20 in all the 5-A schools in Florida coming in at number 19.

Last Friday, 9/20/19 Dillard and SHS entered the game undefeated. Dillard held the lead 13-0 at halftime . It was a defensive struggle. Up until this game the Dragons had only given up 20 points in three games. The Dragons scored two TDs in the 3rd quarter. Dillard came alive in the fourth quarter, scoring once and making two field goals. the final score was Dillard 26, SHS.12. SHS is now in a three way tie for first place in their division . Next week we play Hallandale on Friday night in a conference away game. SHS is 3-1, Hallandale is 2-2.

Mighty Dragons are 3-0 after beating Taravella 19-12. The defense did it again. shutting out their opponent in the second half of the game. it was 13-12 at halftime. The Mighty dragons scored a TD in the third quarter, missed the extra point, but that was all they needed to secure their third win in a row...…...…..WERE UNDEFEATED SO FAR THIS YEAR. Next week we play Dillard HS, they are averaging 44 points a game, so the Dragons have their work cut out for them. The game is at Dillard field this Friday, Sept.20th at 7pm.

Last Thurs in a home non-conference game the Mighty Dragons defeated the South Broward Bull Dogs by a score of 6-0. On a soggy field (again) and another very humid night, both defenses put on quite a show. In the last two games the Dragons have only had 8 points scored against them. Nice job defense. Next week we play Taravella High (Coral Springs) in another non league game. Last week Taravell lost to Plantation 43-3, so Maybe we can go 3-0 to start our season...Go Dragons.

Thursday nights game was played on a soggy field and the humidity was what you would expect, you could cut it with a knife. I was sweating just watching the game, cant imagine how the players felt. The dragons got off to a quick start leading 13-0 in the first quarter. Coral Glades got a safety on us and the Dragons led at the end of the first quarter 13-2. After trading punts and no more scoring the halftime score was still 13-2. The second half was a different story, our Dragons scored 26 more points. Coral Glades would score only once more and their PAT was no good. Final score SHS 39 Coral Glades 8. Next weeks game is again on a Thursday, we have so many high schools in the area it's not just weekend football any more. SHS plays South Broward in a non conference game at home August 29@7pm

Well sports fans, it is that time again, FOOTBALL season has begun. Stranahans schedule is 12 games instead of the usual 10. The season starts with two non-league games. Sort of a pre season start I guess you could call it.
I was out of town last week, visiting my mother, who by the way will turn 95 this December. Back to sports,
August 16th, last Friday SHS played their first game away at Plantation and in a defensive struggle lost a heart breaker 7-0. This years roster has only 19 players on it. this means some are going to be playing offence and defence during each game.
This week, August 22, the Mighty Dragons play Coral Glades ( Coral Springs, Fl) at Dillard field in a home game, kickoff is at 7pm, in the words of Earnest P. Worell, be there or be square, know what I mean.
